OUR STORY

   Mother Medicina came to me in a dream when I was pregnant with my first baby. I was in the midst of studying Natural medicine and growing a baby, and I was longing to share my learnings with a community of like minded people, particularly mother’s, who resonated with living a nature inspired life. Not only was I longing to share what I was learning, I was also wanting to create something tangible that I knew would support women during their transition from maiden to mother and beyond. I awoke from the dream and it was very clear to me that I needed to birth this business. And so not only was my baby born, but this business was too. 

   Growing up, I never had much of an idea of true health. As I reached my teen years, I suffered with acne, weight fluctuation, gut issues, period pain, eating disorders, disconnection from myself and an overall feeling that I wasn’t living to my fullest potential. How can you when you don’t feel your best? I would see mainstream doctors and take prescription medications, but nothing addressed the root cause.

   It was around this time that I felt I hit a very low point and discovered yoga. Yoga brought stillness into my life, something I didn’t have much experience with as my childhood was very noisy and turbulent. My yoga practice eventually led me to reading self help books, which led me to discovering the healing power of food, and so on.

   It was nature that held me in my darkest times and brought a sense of connection and vitality back into my life. You can call it god, or Mother Earth or whatever resonates with you. To me, it is all the same thing. It is the gentle, loving healing force that exists in this world and within all of us too.

   Mother Medicina has ebbed and flowed over the past couple of years as I have too throughout my journey of motherhood. Originally I felt called to support just mothers, however that calling has shifted to wanting to offer herbal support to as many people as possible, because we all deserve access to, and education on nature’s medicine.
